Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Family Lawyer with at least six years of relevant experience to join our growing team. This role will involve managing a caseload of various family law matters, including property settlements, divorce, child custody, spousal maintenance, and other related legal services. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to provide advice and representation, while also contributing to the firm’s ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, property settlements, child custody, parenting arrangements, and spousal maintenance.
- Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in family law disputes.
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including affidavits, settlement agreements, consent orders, and court applications.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Assist clients in resolving complex financial and property matters following separation.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations, ensuring they are fully informed throughout the process.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and compassionate legal services.
- Stay up to date with changes in family law legislation and case law to provide current, reliable legal advice.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to deliver comprehensive services to clients.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the family law team.
Key Requirements: - A minimum of 6 years of post-admission experience in family law, ideally in Western Australia.
- Strong knowledge of family law legislation, practices, and procedures in WA, including experience in the Family Court of Western Australia.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex family law matters, including property settlements, parenting disputes, and divorce proceedings.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged situations.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively, while also collaborating with a team.
- A client-focused approach with a high level of professionalism and empathy.
- A current practicing certificate with the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality legal work within deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of legal software and technology, with the ability to adapt to new tools as required.
