Our client is a Local Government facility, located close to the CBD.
They are seeking an enthusiastic, personable Functions Officer to coordinate the corporate, civic and ceremonial functions, catering and stakeholder activities.
JOB DUTIES- Undertake duties as the Food Safety Supervisor, ensuring all functions comply to relevant standards.
- Oversee the preparation of project plans, run sheets, programmes, invitations, seating charts, name tags and staging for functions.
- Supervise catering contractors.
- Manage the department’s consumable stocks, including food and beverages, promotional material, equipment and merchandise and monitor stock usage, organising replacement and new stock as required.
- Effectively supervise and promote compliance with Work Health & Safety and Environment policies and procedures to maintain safe work practices and a safe working environment, whilst protecting the environment and ensuring prevention of pollution.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS - Completed or in progress towards, a relevant qualification in Hospitality, Event Management or Administration
- Previous experience within the events, hospitality and functions field
- Well-developed organisational, event management and administrative skills.
- Good communication skills including the ability to write reports, liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and run meetings related to civic and corporate events.
- Ability to acquire the appropriate legislative endorsements e.g. Construction Induction
- White Card, in combination with a good understanding of the Work Health & Safety requirements relevant to this position.
- Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months).
- Possession of, or the ability to acquire a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.
- Possession of, or ability to acquire SITSS00069 - Food Safety Supervision Skill Set.
